Job Description – Field Supervisor (Road Works)

Responsibilities

🔹 Supervision & Compliance
▪ Oversee construction site activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
▪ Supervise foremen, skilled, and unskilled laborers to maintain high-quality standards set by Tatu City.
▪ Ensure all personnel adhere to health and safety protocols, including wearing protective equipment.
▪ Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate action to manage risks.

🔹 Site Records & Data Collection
▪ Ensure all site records are prepared and submitted on time.
▪ Collect and analyze road inventory data to assist in roadwork programs and cost estimates.
▪ Assist in preparing progress reports for construction and maintenance works.
▪ Conduct annual traffic counts and compile data for road appraisal, ensuring alignment between resources and project scope.

🔹 Survey & Design Adjustments
▪ Review design drawings issued to the site and make necessary adjustments based on site conditions (with Construction Manager’s approval).
▪ Develop geometric designs from survey results using AutoCAD, Civil CAD, or similar software.
▪ Review hydrological and drainage designs, modifying them as needed to suit project requirements.

🔹 Project Monitoring & Quality Control
▪ Prepare work and resource schedules, ensuring site teams and subcontractors adhere to plans and timelines.
▪ Ensure all construction work is executed with approved quality materials and meets required specifications.
▪ Assess, evaluate, and report daily performance of labor and equipment.

🔹 Issue Resolution & Communication
▪ Provide clear written and verbal instructions to the site team and subcontractors.
▪ Resolve project-related problems efficiently to avoid delays.
▪ Escalate critical issues to the Construction Manager when necessary.

Requirements

✅ Education & Experience
▪ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Building & Construction, or a related field, with 7 years of relevant site work experience in supervising civil works.
OR
▪ Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building & Construction, or a related field, with 10 years of relevant site work experience in supervising civil works.

✅ Technical Skills
▪ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Project.
▪ Competency in engineering software such as AutoCAD and other relevant applications.
▪ Strong understanding of Civil Engineering specifications and methodologies.

✅ Personal Attributes
▪ Excellent planning and organizational skills.
▪ Proven track record in managing projects with multi-disciplinary teams.
