Responsibilities
- Global Environment Facility Funds Financial Management: Reviews, analyses and finalizes the preparation of the Global Environment .
- Reports to the GEF Trustee in accordance with the GEF, Global Biodiversity Framework Fund (GBFF) Financial Procedures Agreements.
- Reviews, analyses and provides detailed inputs to the financial statements of the Global Environment Facility Family of Funds.
- Budget Preparation: Reviews, analyses and finalizes cost estimates and budget proposals, in terms of staff and non-staff requirements including programmatic aspects; ensures compliance with the Global Environment Facility Funds and UNEP rules and procedures.
- Provides substantive support to relevant teams in their budget review.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, finance, or related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
Work Experience
- A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in finance, administration, budget, business administration or related area is required.
- At least three (3) years of experience in finance and budget within the United Nations or similar international organization at the professional level is required.
- Experience in review of financial statements is required.
