Which businesses can be listed?

Who belongs on FindNowHub

FindNowHub is built for local businesses that people can visit or book. Most of our listings are shops, offices and other premises with a physical address, along with local service providers. We also list mobile businesses, public services, parks, attractions and anything else that is part of everyday local life in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Not every business qualifies. When we find a page that doesn’t meet these guidelines, we usually remove it from our search results and ask search engines such as Google to remove it too, although they update on their own schedule. A removed page may still open from its direct link, or from photos and reviews that mention it.

Businesses we don't list

We generally don’t accept pages for:

• Online-only shops with no place customers can visit or local service they can book.
• Businesses that mainly sell to other businesses rather than to the public.
• Direct sellers, such as individual agents for network-marketing products.
• Lead-generation services that pass customer enquiries on to other businesses.
• Other businesses we believe aren't a good fit for people looking for local services.

Some cases aren’t clear-cut, and we have to make a judgement about whether a business belongs on FindNowHub. If you spot a page you think shouldn’t be here, let us know at info@findnowhub.com.

Businesses opening soon

A business can be added as soon as there is information about it that we can verify. However, we usually keep it out of search results until it is less than one month from opening.

If you’re the owner and want your page ready before launch, claim your business page and tell customers your opening date in the business description, or add “Opening Soon” to the business name until you open.

Businesses without a fixed location

Many service businesses come to the customer rather than the other way round. Plumbers, electricians, cleaners and mobile mechanics, for example, work at their customers’ homes, and customers rarely visit their offices.

• These businesses should list a service area instead of creating separate pages for different towns or neighbourhoods.
• A service area can cover up to 80 km from its centre, or 160 km between its two furthest points.
• Many mobile businesses are run from home. We won't show a home address on a business page unless the owner asks us to.

When a business can have more than one page

As a rule, each location of a business has one page. A few situations call for separate pages:

Different services with different experiences

When one business offers services that customers experience very differently, each service can have its own page. A car dealership with a repair workshop is a good example: a customer might have a great time buying a car and a poor one getting it serviced. The two departments usually have their own opening hours and phone numbers too, so keeping them apart makes reviews more useful.

A business inside another business

A business located inside another one should have its own page, such as a restaurant inside a hotel. The same can apply to a department of a larger business, for example a pharmacy inside a supermarket, especially when its hours or contact details are different.

Individual professionals and group practices

Some professionals are judged on their own work, separately from the practice they belong to. A doctor, for example, can have a personal page as well as the pages for the hospital, clinic or group practice where they work.

Closed businesses

When we learn that a business has closed, moved or changed substantially, we mark its page as closed so customers know. The page stays visible, marked as closed, so its reviews remain available for reference. If you see a business that has closed but isn’t marked, please tell us at info@findnowhub.com.

Where we operate

FindNowHub currently lists businesses in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania only. We can’t add or support business pages in other countries yet.
