Review Policy
Your trust is our priority
Reviews on FindNowHub help people across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania choose local businesses with confidence. They are only useful if they are honest, so we protect them from being bought, bullied or bargained away. This policy explains how reviews work, what businesses can and can’t do, and how to raise a concern.
Businesses can't pay to alter or remove reviews
No business can pay FindNowHub to change, hide, reorder or remove a review, and advertising with us makes no difference to the reviews a business receives. The same rules apply to every business, whether it advertises or not.
- Advertisers and non-advertisers see their reviews treated in exactly the same way.
- Our staff can't move, edit or delete a review because a business asks or offers something in return.
- A review is only removed if it breaks our Content Guidelines or Terms of Service, or the law requires it.
How reviews are recommended
Every business page shows Recommended Reviews: the reviews we believe are most reliable and useful. Automated checks look at signals such as how established the reviewer is and whether a review looks genuine, and they run the same way for every business.
Reviews that aren’t recommended are not deleted. They can still be read, but they don’t count towards a business’s overall star rating. A review’s status can change over time as we learn more about it.
What we expect from reviewers
Write about your own first-hand experience as a customer, keep to the facts and stay respectful. The full rules are in our Content Guidelines. In short:
- Review only businesses you have actually used or contacted, and post each experience once.
- Don't review your own business, your employer, a relative's or friend's business, or a competitor.
- Never accept payment, discounts or free services in exchange for a review, and never ask a business for money to remove or change one.
- Write in your own words; don't copy other people's content or use AI tools to write your review.
What we expect from businesses
- Don't ask customers for reviews, and never offer rewards, discounts or gifts for them.
- Don't write reviews of your own business or ask staff, friends or family to do so.
- Don't threaten, pressure or pay reviewers to change or remove what they wrote.
- Do reply to reviews, publicly or by private message, to thank customers or put things right.
Businesses that try to manipulate their reviews may have a notice placed on their page warning customers, and their reviews may be reset.
Reporting a review
If you think a review breaks our rules, report it from the review itself using the menu next to it, or email us at info@findnowhub.com with a link to the review and the reason. Our moderators check each report against the Content Guidelines.
Reasons a review may be removed
- It isn't based on a genuine, first-hand customer experience.
- It contains threats, harassment, hate speech or lewd content.
- It was written by someone with a conflict of interest, or was paid for or rewarded.
- It shares someone else's private information.
- It is promotional, off-topic or a copy of another review.
A review isn’t removed just because it is negative or a business disagrees with it. We don’t take sides in factual disputes; the business can reply publicly to give its side of the story.
